EHL celebrates women’s day
As a part of Women’s Day celebrations, Ernakulam Hockey Lovers is organising Indian Oil 5-A side Women’s Hockey Tournament on 7th March at Sporthood Turf opposite Lulu Edappally from 3 PM onwards.
Justice Mary Joseph, High Court Judge Kerala will be inaugurating the tournament. Neeraja Jyothish, winner Miss Teen Kerala will be one of the chief guests. Tournament will be promoting the campaign of ADD HOCKEY AVOID DRUGS. An oath against drug abuse will be taken during the tournament. Tournament will be held keeping the covid protocol.
Total 8 teams will be participating in the tournament where the preliminary rounds will be on a knock out basis. Winners will be receiving a cash prize of Rs 10,000/- and Runners up will be getting Rs 5,000/-. Individual prizes for Best Goal Keeper and player of the tournament will be awarded.

EHL Always stood for the promotion of Hockey and glad that we could organise a women’s tournament with a wide reach and a great mileage” said Mr Manoj-President Ernakulam Hockey Lovers.
As a part of Women’s day celebrations EHL will be honouring and felicitating outstanding women personalities during the tournament. Ms Sophia M Joe-First Bike racer with hearing disability, Dr Mary Anitha-Social Worker and Ms Anupama- A Nurse who served in Covid Front line would be felicitated for their outstanding achievements and services.
“The aim of the tournament is to promote Hockey in women’s category and spreading a message of equality for women” said Sheena Zacharia Kattikaran -Tournament Convenor.
Hustle Hockey Club-Ernakulam, Hackers Hockey-Ernakulam, All Saints college Tvm,Dhyan Chand Hockey club- Calicut, St Mary’s college- Thrissur, Thycaud Hockey club-Tvm, Marthoma college -Pathanamthitta, Silver Arrows-Tvm are the teams participating.
Associate sponsors for the tournament are Airtel, TecQ, Aimfill, Bhima Jewellers.
Tournament is in association with Kerala Hockey and Ernakulam Hockey Associations.
